Hackamore

A Hackamore is primarily a bitless riding tool, but it can also be used in combination with a bit. It works by applying pressure to the horse’s nose through a lever action, which is influenced by the length of the shanks and the type of noseband used. The level of pressure varies depending on the length of the shanks and the type of chin strap or curb chain. Due to the leverage involved, a Hackamore can be quite sharp. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders or horses.
