Inno Sense
Bits from the Inno Sense collection can be used for every horse and are particularly suitable for young horses and/or horses with a sensitive mouth. The synthetic material is FDA approved, which means the material does not contain plasticizers and is non-toxic to people and animals.
Horses that are ridden with an Inno Sense bit follow the hand easily and accept the bit smoothly.
Mullen
A Mullen mouthpiece is a rigid, unbending straight bar that slightly curves forward. Made fnon-toxic, elastic synthetic material that is FDA approved and free of plasticizers, it offers a solid, firm feel while maintaining a gentle, soft touch against the horse's mouth. Unlike the flexi soft bits, the Mullen mouthpiece does not bend, providing consistent pressure across the tongue. This type of bit is designed to be more comfortable for sensitive horses while still providing effective control.
Straight Mouthpiece
A straight mouthpiece is a single-piece bit that applies pressure to the tongue, bars, and lips. The shape and thickness of the mouthpiece influence how and where this pressure is distributed within the horse’s mouth.
- A straight mouthpiece with a tongue port applies more pressure to the bars while allowing the tongue greater freedom.
Generally, the straighter and thicker the mouthpiece, the more pressure it places on the tongue.
Hackamore Combi Short
The Hackamore Combi combines a hackamore with a bit, providing leverage through pressure on the nose, chin, and mouth. The strength of the action depends on the length of the shanks and the type of noseband, chin strap, and bit used.
This Hackamore Combi features short shanks, offering a milder effect compared to the long-shanked version. However, due to the leverage, it is a sharp bit and must not be used by inexperienced riders or on young horses.
Why Proper Sizing Matters
Choosing the correct bit size is essential for your horse’s comfort and performance. A bit that is too small can create painful pressure points and damage the mouth, while a bit that is too large may slide through the horse's mouth, causing discomfort and pinching the corners, potentially leading to wounds. Always ensure the bit fits snugly without being restrictive to keep your horse comfortable and responsive. What If My Horse Bites or Damages the Bit?
TRUST Equestrian guarantees the quality of its products against defects in material and workmanship. However, they do not provide coverage for damage caused by chewing on Inno Sense mouthpieces. The bit should rest on the horse’s jawline, avoiding contact with teeth or molars. Horses with dental issues may damage the bit by biting or lifting it with their tongue, potentially causing damage to the flexible material.
TRUST Inno Sense flexi bits are made from FDA-approved, non-toxic materials free from plasticizers. However, bits with bite marks or damage caused by misuse are not eligible for reimbursement
